The Ecuador Adventure Group

Since 1991, Ecuador Adventure has developed, organized, and delivered top-quality adventure tours in one of the world’s hotspots of biodiversity. Today, Ecuador Adventure’s tours cover all regions of the country (Andes, Amazon, Coast & Galapagos), providing a combination of quality, comfort, and value that has made us Ecuador’s number one adventure travel operator.

Ecuador Adventure strives to provide only distinctive travel experiences, unmatched by creativity, safety, professionalism, and attention to detail. Our office staff skillfully handles every detail of even the toughest itineraries - letting you focus on enjoying the natural and cultural distinctiveness of Ecuador.

Through our product lines - Galapagos Adventure, Adventure Tours, Culture Tours, and Student Adventures - we offer a complete range of products to access practically every visit-worthy corner of this wonderfully diverse country. Ecuador Adventure is also a provider of Galapagos Cruise Vessels, as well as unique land-based travel services throughout Ecuador.

Adventure Pioneers

Pioneering adventure travel and opening new routes to experience Ecuador’s natural wonders defines Ecuador Adventure's creative spirit and dedication. We first began as a whitewater operator, running first descents down rivers and gorges of the Amazon and Coast that are popular trip destinations today. Not long afterwards, we expanded to include trekking and mountain biking routes, producing the venerable multisport concept which is well adjusted to Ecuador’s geographical diversity and close proximity between regions. Ecuador Adventure also developed and is an exclusive provider of the Amazon Kayak Expedition, as well as the Galapagos Trekking and Galapagos Multiport tours, which revolutionized the way adventure travelers explore Galapagos today.

Safety First

Safety is always our primary concern. Years of experience, combined with carefully planned safety procedures and contingency plans, form the backbone of our successful operation. A comprehensive safety briefing is given at the start of every trip and each adventurer is trained in the paddling, cycling, or riding techniques needed to safely navigate Ecuador’s often challenging terrain. Our guides are Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certified, and our drivers are equipped with mobile phones and/or high power radios, giving them ready access to logistical support, evacuation routes, or other forms of local assistance as needed. Whitewater tours are provided with a minimum of two certified guides.

Equipment

Our equipment is professional grade and top-of-the-line, specialized to withstand the rigors of adventure sports and designed to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment. We provide all the necessary personal protective equipment: high-flotation life jackets, high-impact helmets, lightweight paddles, throw ropes, gloves, water bottles, splash jackets, and more, based on the type of activity and weather. All trips include a complete first aid kit, stocked to the standards of a medical emergency response team. We also carry spare equipment in case of breakdown, and most trips are supported by a chase vehicle or boat, if needed for immediate response.

Sustainable and Environmental Practices

Ecuador Adventure’s tours are socially and environmentally committed to sustainable ecotourism practices. We are proud board members of ASEC (Ecuadorian Ecotourism Association), where we have the opportunity to contribute to Ecuador’s tourism industry both at an operational and political level in the space where tourism, the welfare of local communities, and environmental conservation practices meet. We helped to establish the first certification standards for nature-based hotels, and we are currently in the process of becoming the first Ecuadorian operator to be Ecotourism certified by the Ecuadorian Ecotourism Association.

We also work closely with the International Ecotourism Society (TIES) and abide by Leave No Trace camping and environmental standards.

If you are our guest, you can expect:

  • To receive information to help you minimize your impact on local cultures, plants, and animals.
  • That your trip costs and fees will contribute to the welfare of community members and the conservation of their natural environment, since we hire local guides and use local services.
  • To travel in small groups to ensure minimal environmental impact.
  • To avoid areas which are under-managed or over-visited.
  • Meticulous recycling and trash management.
